Trailer Review - Transformers: Dark of the Moon

I have to admit a guilty pleasure, that I am a huge fan of the TRANSFORMERS franchise. The action and effects are outstandingly cool and blow me away every time. However, I could barely make out what was going on from the newest trailer, the third of the series. I am intrigued. I see tall city-scapes with overhanging space-crafts, car crashes turning into robot brawls, and a hot girl standing silently as the world explodes around her. Thus...Transformers. The trailer looks more like INDEPENDENCE DAY or the new film BATTLE: LOS ANGELES with scenes from previous Transformers films spliced in. I still don't know how, story-wise, they're gonna replace Megan Fox's character with that new girl. Maybe she was killed in the last one and no one noticed? Maybe they broke up? But I can't believe that. I mean if a relationship between a boy and a girl can't survive two near-robot apocalypse's, then what can?

Trailer Review - Captain America: The First Avenger

From what I can see, I don't see anything too "Super" about Captain America. Sure he bulks and dresses up to meet the look of America's namesake hero - but what exactly does he do that makes him such an "Avenger". He jumps high, he shoots guns (very un-super) and prances around in colorful leather outfit (which really only makes him a clearer target). I give it a hard time because it takes a lot to do justice to "the Captain". But in all honesty I am excited to see this movie. Hugo Weaving (of THE MATRIX and V FOR VENDETTA fame) is absolutely perfect casting for America's arch nemesis "The Red Skull". But is Chris Evans really ideal for Captain? In every movie, he plays an arrogant class clown whose overconfidence gets him and his teammates in trouble (FANTASTIC 4, PUSH). Captain America is supposed to be the perfect patriot, humble, brave, etc. I guess we'd need to see some serious acting on his part if he is ever going to pull it off. Fingers crossed. All aboard Cap'n!
